As head of Beatdown Music Academy, Adam has spent over 20 years performing music with 13 years worth of teaching under his belt. Beatdown was dreamed up as an escape for people everywhere, of any age to engage with music at any level.
He currently dedicates his time to the drum tuition of students, however is also well skilled in guitar, bass and vocal mentoring.
Adam is also the drummer for the incredible U.K based Blink-182 tribute band Wink-182 .
As well as running a successful musical team, Adam is a father of 2 small children which enables him to work very well with our younger students.
Mike is our newest member of the Beatdown Music Academy Team. After being a guitarist for over 16 years, his knowledge/experience of teaching in a private and community setting has helped him to develop his own awesome teaching style.
After achieving his bachelors degree in music production from Leeds College of Music, luckily for us, gives him an extra layer to his musical knowledge. Leading to him being a specialist in production and composition.
Mike has a passion for community music and also developing students on a 1 to 1 basis to achieve their full potential in their instrument. Mike is fully flexible to accommodate different abilities and availabilities. Due to his experience in many genres Mike can create personalised lessons focusing on the individual’s musical interests in a relaxed enjoyable environment.

AJ is the last piece of our guitar department and a current member of KK's Priest https://www.facebook.com/KKsPriest, who manages to teach guitar to the next generation in-between touring and working along side legends creating outstanding music.
Popular and successful guitarist A.J. Mills originally from Wednesbury is pleased that he is able to afford some of his valuable time to teach and staff at Beatdown Music Academy.
A.J. is a present member of ‘KK’s Priest’ which features previous members of ‘Judas Priest’ K.K Downing and Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens. The band has released their latest album Sermons Of The Sinner, now available to stream on Spotify, and will be embarking on a world tour in the near future.
For now, A.J. Is very please to be able to help new and young musicians just as he was and encourage them to practice hard and to persevere, as he firmly believes that there’s much more talent to come out of the Black Country yet to follow in the footsteps of ‘Black Sabbath’, ‘Judas Priest’, ‘Led Zeppelin’ and many others.

Ant is not only one of our very talented Guitar/ Bass tutors. But also runs https://www.facebook.com/FirestormProUK.
Which means he has the ability to not only teach our students but also encourage them forward to record and produce their own music.
Ant has been active with music for 15 years, with his wealth of experience and knowledge ready to pass on to the next generation of musician.
His producing has grown tremendously over the past 12 months leading to some exciting projects in the pipe line, that we can't wait to see be released in the coming year.
As a graduate from the University of Huddersfield with a Postgraduate from the University of
Kris has worked extremely hard to attain a well-rounded, high-level knowledge of music over woodwind
performance, composition and musicology. As well as being a flexible music tutor which encompasses
piano skills, overall musicality and music theory.
Kris’ high level of adaptability and resilience allows
him to deliver a structured yet unique lesson to each of his students.
He was also lucky enough to
spend 2 and a half months in Sicily playing with the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra in the summer of
As well as this, Kris is a keen composer and is working on both a PhD idea and an upcoming
music tutor book series, that we are hoping to release later this year.
In his role as a music director of a local scout group, concert band and brass band, Kris gives the next generation of musicians as much insight and knowledge as he can.
Students can expect a high level of professionalism teamed with a welcoming yet nurturing
teaching style to suit all levels of musical ability, believing that music really is life enhancing.
Beth is our highly proficient band and ensemble player. As a concert band contest 1st clarinettist, with a degree in Music from the University of Wolverhampton. She has a lot of experience in music performance, musicianship on clarinet(s) saxophone(s) and flute. She is also 1st Saxophone and Alto Clarinet player for The Central England Concert Band.
Furthermore she is a professional arranger when she is not teaching, putting her skills to good use co leading a scout band in her spare time.
Beth’s musical ear and long proved efficient teaching method has made her excel in the industry since graduating in 2020 while being involved in pit band shows and private events.
During the summer of 2019 she was lucky enough to spend 2 and a half months in Sicily playing clarinet for the prestigious Sicilian Symphony Orchestra.
Students can expect to receive a patient and calm mannered tutor who has both the qualifications and hands on experience needed to help even the most nervous students achieve their personal goals.
Beth very closely holds the Beatdown ethos that there is value of any level of musical ability, believing anyone can learn and enjoy music in whatever form that is in.
If you get the pleasure of meeting Emily our vocal tutor, we think you will agree they are an absolute joy. With a warm and bubbly personality, they make teaching lessons fun from start to finish. Please don't be alarmed if your breathing through a straw or doing silly vocal exercises. Trust us. They work.
Emily also managed to successfully graduate with a First Class Degree in musical theatre from the University of Wolverhampton and we are so proud.
